Outcome of rupture liver abscess in tertiary care center

Background: Liver abscess is common clinical condition encountered in outpatient and emergency setting however; rupture of it can lead to higher morbidity mortality patients. Despite different easily accessible modalities are available diagnose the early, still ruptured liver presents with a cause acute abdomen surgical emergency.Methods: This was retrospective study carried Sarojini Naidu Medical College, Agra, between 2019 2021. All patients (ultrasound diagnosed) were included this study, those having other causes peritonitis excluded.Results: Out fourty assessed, all male (100%). The most affected age group 31-40 years (50%) followed by 41-50 (30%). Right hypochondrium pain presenting complaint. 80% have history chronic alcohol intake. Twenty had presented signs toxemia. Only right lobe 28 (70%). Escherichia coli organism isolated our 21patients (52.5%). A total 16 (40%) diabetes 7 (17.5%) study.Conclusions: Ruptured be diagnosed preventable if early intervention done. It carries high so diagnosis prompt treatment reduce risk it.
